I’ve been working on a very special project for the last few months.
Yes, another one 🤣
This one is slightly different than usual though as it has me as a “vocalist” and I’ll tell you what, I am very scared to share it.
It’s an epic folk-metal foray and despite being scared to share it, I am very proud of it.
I have found myself doing all those usual things to avoid showing anyone; spending an extra special amount of time making sure the mix is “perfect”, moving the arrangement back and forth and generally putting off finishing the track.
I took a month or so off from the project because I thought it wasn’t right for me but I have found myself coming back to it with renewed energy and excitement.
I spent this morning finishing the track and I think I am ready to share my work in progress…
I’m not doing this to get compliments or to fill my ego but to show you guys something - you will never move on in your projects if you do not decide to take that scary step and start sharing your work.
Remember, done is better than perfect.
So without further ado, here is my work-in-progress for my new artist, Pryn, with their track It Shattered.

🎧 I’m Listening To…
Steal The Show by Lauv from the Disney Pixar movie Elemental. I absolutely LOVE the catchy hook in this track. Plus, I love the scenes in the movie that this track plays over. What can I say? I am a sucker for love!
📺 I’m Watching…
Guy Ritchie’s Wrath of Man. I love a movie when Jason Statham gets to be this guy; cold, hard, powerful, grumpy (in a British way). Great vengeance movie.
🔥 Tool I’m Using…
Daemon Lofi Kit. I recently did a tutorial showing you how I use this great FREE lofi kit to create a chill lofi piano track. I really, really love this kit.
🌟 New From Rich
I think it is really important to know the full potential of the instruments you are writing with and the piano is one of those instruments that can not only add so much to an existing track but also take the whole track by itself.
🫶🏻 Sharing is Caring
I have just re-released my FREE Glockenspiel VST (it’s a Pixiephone) with a new Kontakt interface. I love this little Pixiephone.
Pixiephone | FREE Glockenspiel VST (kind of)A free glockenspiel-type VST instrument.
